Benedict Ayade is a Nigerian politician who was elected Governor for Cross River in 9 April 2015 national elections, running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform. ==Early career== Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade was born on 2 March 1969. He studied at the University of Ibadan, Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma and Delta State University, Abraka, becoming a Lecturer. An environmental consultant, he was appointed Chairman of the Ecological fund, Chairman of the International Institute of Environmental Research and a member of SPAC. He worked on Groundwater Remediation in Nigeria, and invented a sewage treatment plant based on solar energy. He won an award from the government of Japan for outstanding research into Global warming in Africa.
